Well the family left at seven this morning to drive to Ohio. Mom, Dad and Grandma went with Mark and Amy to help out with the unpacking and get them settled into their new apartment. It's amazing how quickly their two years in Arizona went. Amy graduated with a masters in teaching English as a second language, while Mark got his masters in percussion performance. I myself have three semesters left of undergraduate school at UNM. AMAZING how time flies.
Today the El Salvador team was commissioned and prayed over for our journey and safety while sharing the Gospel of Christ in El Salvador. A small team with great plans from God. I can't wait to head out and see what will be done through the team's time in El Salvador. Thursday will be here before we all know it. :)
This afternoon I got to relax...first Sunday in a long time that I haven't had anywhere to be after church. I will even get a chance to see a movie and get dinner with a good friend. I look forward to a few relaxing days before heading to El Salvador where the relaxing will be minimal but the fun and adventure will be great!
Can we get some rain too? Thanks God for being there in all that I do. Please keep the family safe as they make their way to Ohio. Please keep the El Salvador team safe as we travel on Thursday! Thank you for sending your Son to die for me. I love you!
In Him,
Julie

The End of a Job
Three more days left of working at Target. This is the second longest running job I have had. Keller passes it by a year and a half. It's amazing how jobs come and go in high school and college, you make new friends, reconnect with old friends and increase the amount of places you can put for job references for the career you actually plan on having. I have enjoyed my job at Target because of my co-cashiers and those I have talked to the past two years about life and the things that matter. I will miss seeing those friends regularly but will shop at the store and stay in touch where I can. I am excited to start working more in Keller Hall again because I enjoy working with musicians from all walks of life and the other many people who rent the hall throughout the year. I love having a job that is so flexible and enjoyable.
After getting emails last week about two of my classes being dropped, I have fixed my fall schedule with little time used and a pleasant experience at the College of Education advisement office, even in the midst of their moving locations. I also got my new ID, which is supposed to be much more updated and have more functions than the old ones...not like I need much out of my ID but they are quite fancy.
I have also started packing for El Salvador. It's hard to believe that we leave a week from tomorrow. I am excited to see what God has in store for the team as we work with the Christians of San Salvador and Iglesia Sinai. I have made necklaces and cards, gathering puppet supplies and all of my needed items, clothes, medications, toiletries and more. I plan to spray my clothes with bug repellent on Saturday then I can start packing the suit case in the most space efficient way possible. It's amazing how much one can put in a suit case when they try. :)
Coming home from Chaos tonight, middle school youth group at Sagebrush, I started thinking about what I was doing this time last year. Fourth of July was spent visiting Pop-Pop at the hospital and with Peter and other friends I haven't talked to since about Christmas. Pop-Pop was asking me about my plans, from school to work to my home school choir...he wanted to know about all of my plans for the coming semester and the rest of the summer. I remember thinking that he cared so much about what was going on in my life even while he was sick with cancer and unable to be home, doing the things of summer as usual. He amazed me with his desire to be so involved even while sick those last few weeks. Saturday will be the year anniversary of his journey home to heaven to spend eternity with God. Time flies. What did I do in the last year? Well I got into the College of Education, passed two teaching exams, lost many friends, made some new friends, finished a fourth year of college with the highest GPA yet, stayed single and enjoyed it, changed churches, became involved with middle school youth, gave my time and love to many families in need of someone to just be there for them and many other things. Pop-Pop would be proud of the accomplishments of this past year. It's hard to believe that a year has gone by so quickly. Grandma is still working on some repairs around the house, the next being the roof while being so strong and being even more generous and loving to her family. I treasure my time with Grandma even more now because she always has a piece of Pop-Pop with her. This week for instance, I got some books of his from the study to read and a pillow for El Salvador. Silly, I know, but makes me feel like he is close even though I know he is playing basketball and singing with Jesus. Time flies...what will I do this year?
May God bless you in all that you do. May he keep you safe as you go about your day. May your light shine in this world of lost people.
"Whatever makes you happy, just tickles me to death."
